The body of legendary actor Abdur Razzak has been taken to the BFDC premises and then to Shaheed Minar on Tuesday morning.
His body has been taken to the Central Shaheed Minar at around 12 AM for the people of all walks of life to pay tribute to him.
At around 11 AM, Razzak was taken to his favorite work place, BFDC, where a fair level of security was provided. His colleagues, subordinates as well as fans appeared at FDC rain-soaked to pay homage.
Notably, Razzak, popularly known as Nayak Raj Razzak, passed away on Monday afternoon around 6:15 PM at United Hospital at the age of 75. He suffered from pneumonia and old-age complications.
Razzak is survived by his wife and four children.
His family members informed that the actor’s body was being kept in the hospital’s mortuary.
“Our primary decision was to bury his body at the Banani graveyard after arrival of his son Bappi from Canada. However, as Bappi’s return is uncertain, he will be laid to rest today,” they revealed.
The veteran actor will be buried at Banani graveyard following a namaz-e-janaza after Asar prayers.
The country’s film fraternity has also collectively decided to suspend all shooting for the next three days to mourn Nayakraj.
The undisputed emperor of Bangladeshi cinema, who reigned for decades, passed away at the capital’s United Hospital at 6:15pm following a heart attack. He was admitted there earlier in the day after falling sick, family sources said. He had been suffering from various complications.
