Tourists swarm to Saint Martin’s to celebrate New Year

Coral Island Saint Martin’s is now full with tourists who have swarmed there to celebrate New Year.

People of all walks of life, with their family and friends, have come to Saint Martin’s to enjoy a nice vacation with December 29th and 30thbeing public holidays.

People from different area are coming to Saint Martin island by availing tour packages of many inbound tour operators to avoid hazards & to get comfortable stay. They mostly take the full board packages.

Meeting with Finance Today Team at Saint Martin Island, Md Ahasan Habib; Managing Director of Dynasty Tours & travels said; “we are here in advance to ensure comfortable staying and will provide the best hospitality to our honorable clients who takes the packages from us. We will practice this in future also.”

However, there is not enough residential hotels on the island to accommodate such a huge number of tourists.

Hotel owners have said that many tourists had booked the hotels in advance to welcome 2018 on the coral island.

More than a hundred hotels available on the island are already booked fully.

This, however, has not been able to pour cold water on the celebratory mood of the tourists.

The tourists and travelers who failed to secure rooms in the hotels have set up tents on the island to enjoy the beauty of Saint Martin’s under the open sky.

Akkas Miya, who travelled all the way from Panchagarh to visit the coral islands, says he had wished to visit for a very long time. “I came here to celebrate the last day of the year with my family.”

President of the Saint Martin Hotel-College owners association and president of the island’s Awami League unit, Md Mujibur Rahman said to our special correspondent that huge number of tourists throng to the islands at the year end, and this year is no different.

UP chairman of Saint Martin islands, Nur Ahmad informed us that more than 7 thousand tourists have gathered to celebrate the New Year. Most tourists have booked hotels till January 1st and many have settled for rented tents to spend the night on sandy beaches, says the chairman.

OC of Teknaf model police station Md Mayeen Uddin Khan said the law enforcers are working to ensure security of the tourists. “Three tier security measures have been taken to ensure security. The administration has taken steps so that tourists can roam the island freely.”
