Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has urged people to help the government to implement development projects to shift the socioeconomic status of the masses.
“I seek your utmost cooperation. Our development programmes can be turned into reality with your support,” the PM said on Thursday while inaugurating a three-day ‘Development Fair’ at upazila and district levels across the country from her official residence Ganobhaban through videoconferencing.
The fairs have been organized to mark the Homecoming Day of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Premier Sheikh Hasina also highlighted the importance of information of the ongoing development programmes and those to be taken in the future among the people of the country.
“Our aim is to develop the country, simplify the life and improve the living standard of people. We are achieving that goal,” PM Sheikh Hasina said after inaugurating the progarmme.
The PM said the Awami League believes that development means to ensure the development of the mass people in both rural, grassroots and urban level.
“Our development effort is going on to take the country to a respectable position in the world,” she said.
The main objective of the fair is to inform the country’s people about the development initiatives and the ongoing programmes the government has taken to build Bangladesh as a middle-income country by 2021 and a developed one by 2041.
Similar fairs will also be held abroad with a view to ensuring the participation of Bangladeshi expatriates in the development initiatives taken by the present government.
