The Bangladesh government has imposed an indefinite ban on export of some categories of raw jute, officials said.
The export ban came on Thursday in response to the requests of the local industries for ensuring quality jute for them.
The ban was imposed through a circular, issued by the Ministry of Jute and Textiles.
Un-cut, BTR and BWR categories of raw jute have been brought under the ban.
Other categories could be exported, the circular added.
