Korean businesses show interest about BD leather goods

Korean businesses have showed their interest about the leather goods and ceramic commodities of Bangladesh.

Bangladesh Embassy in Seoul on Saturday said Korean businesses showed the interest while they were visiting Bangladesh pavilion at a fair in Seoul.

The three-day Import Goods Fair (IGF) 2018 was held at Coex Mall in Seoul, ended on Saturday.

About two hundred visitors and businessmen from different countries visited Bangladesh Pavilion at the fair.

Bangladesh presented its unconventional products in the fair and the products generated enthusiasm among the foreign businessmen, said the Embassy in a press release.

Many of them enquired about these products with interest. These enthusiasm and interest may assist us to create a future market for these products in Korea which would further strengthen our bilateral commercial relationship, it said.

In order to provide opportunities for the partner countries for showcasing their new products annually to the Korean buyers, Korea Importers Association (KOIMA) has been organising the Fair for a long time.

This year, 50 countries including Bangladesh participated in this fair, said the Embassy.

On June 21, KOIMA Chairman Myoung-jin Shin, in presence of the ambassadors and diplomatic representatives of the participating countries inaugurated the fair.

When the KOIMA Chairman and other Ambassadors visited Bangladesh Pavilion, Ambassador Abida Islam and other officials of the Embassy welcomed them.

Bangladesh Ambassador then presented traditional 'Gamcha' to the KOIMA Chairman and his wife and entertained them with traditional Bangladeshi food.

Exhibits like traditional Nakshikatha, jute and leather products, T-shirts, bangles, sarees, home textiles, ceramic products, earthen ware and different types of food items like tea; coconut oil etc in the Bangladesh pavilion attracted the dignitaries and the visitors.
