Women entrepreneurs to prove capability through competition


Officials and chamber leaders urged the women entrepreneurs to prove capability through competition for making their business profitable and sustainable as well.

They said the competition may be possible if there is training on
products marketing coupled with ensuring quality of products.

They emphasized on proper utilization of innovations along with
assembling diversity and new ideas to production and manufacturing process.
They added importance should be given on product advertisement.

They were addressing a meeting of women entrepreneurs at conference hall
of Rajshahi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) yesterday.

Rajshahi unit of Bangladesh Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry
(BWCCI) organized the meeting on its biannual general meeting and oath-taking
of newly elected committee.

Commissioner of Rajshahi division Nur-Ur-Rahman and President of RCCI Md
Muniruzzaman addressed the meeting as chief and special guests respectively
with BWCCI local unit president Professor Rozety Naznin in the chair.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Alamgir Kabir, President of Bangladesh
Silk Industries Owners Association Liakat Ali and Editor of Daily Sonar Desh
Akbarul Hassan Millat also spoke.

Nur-Ur-Rahman said the present government under the dynamic leadership
of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working relentlessly for promoting
entrepreneurship through adopting various time-fitting measures. He said the
local women entrepreneurs should seize the opportunities.

Mr Rahman said that the Bangladesh has already achieved success in
implementing MDGs. ‘Bangladesh is now in the front line among the SARRC
countries in meeting the MDGs including infant mortality rate and empowerment
of women and has entered into a middle-income country status’, he said.

He also said that the landscape of the global business is changing
significantly through innovations, digital technology, consumer driven
culture, interactions and relationships between business entities.
