The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Thursday approved a charge-sheet against 11 people, including former Madhabdi branch manager of Pubali Bank, over misappropriating Tk 88.85 crore.

The Commission at its regular meeting approved the charge-sheet against them in a graft case after it was placed by ACC Deputy Director y SM Mafidul Islam on Wednesday.

The case was filed on November 11, 2013 with Narsingdi Model Police Station by SM Rakib Miah, incumbent manager of the branch, accusing former manager Sazzadur Rahman Khan and 10 others of violating rules by issuing several letters of credit to 10 businessmen.

According to the case statement, Sazzadur misused his power to issue 55 fake Fixed Deposit Receipts (FDR) and Payment against Documents (PAD), swindling Tk 88.85 crore in the process.

He also allegedly misappropriated funds from Narsingdi Palli Bidyut Samity-1 and National Life Insurance Company transferring those to his personal accounts.
