PM opens 3-day 4th ‘National Development Fair’

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today (Thursday) inaugurated three-day 4th ‘National Development Fair’ through videoconferencing from her official residence Ganobhaban.

The fair is being held at the field of International Trade Fair in Agargaon area in the capital aiming to show the government's multiple development initiatives and successes.

The prime Minister said we have achieved independence by the leadership of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

We alleviated poverty after taking power. We want to creat favourable environment for our present and future citizens, the premier said.

We are giving priority to real education by which students can be wise, knowledgeable and also they can earn by the education.

Our aim that every people will earn and every child will go to school. We have taken step to build digital Bangladesh for country’s development. We have arranged scholarship system for brilliant students, she said.

We have built community clinics by which we are giving free medicine. We are giving allowance to ultra-poor, widow, elderly people. We have reduced poverty 21 percent from 40 percent, she said.

We will build digital system so that students can get all educational facility from internet. We have launched Bangabandhu satellite-1.

We have taken decision to use sea property so that we can earn from the property.

We want youths will build own fate and also country’s fate. Even, we have taken step so that village people can develop their life.

Development successes achieved in different sectors under the dynamic and farsighted leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina are exhibited in the countrywide fair.

Besides, 10 special initiatives taken by the Prime Minister, international recognitions and successes, the Visions 2021 and 2041, Bangabandhu Satellite, mega projects, including the Padma Bridge and Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant, and other investment prospects are displayed in the fair.

During the fair, the Mass Communication Directorate will project the government’s successes among people through its district offices, while Bangladesh Betar will air the government’s development activities.

Various government offices, agencies, banks, and insurance and other financial institutions joined the district and upazila-level fair, arranged by the local administrations.
