Zahid for making hospitals more patient-friendly


Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque today urged health officials for working sincerely to make all public hospitals across the country more friendly for patients.

“Zahid asked all the directors of public hospitals as well as institutes and principals of medical colleges of the country to take work plans following the election manifesto of the government to ensure proper healthcare for patients and make health facilitates friendly for them,” said a press release.

He came up with the directives while presiding over a meeting with directors of public hospitals and institutions and principals of medical colleges at the conference room of health ministry at Secretariat here.

State Minister for Health M Murad Hasan, Secretary of the ministry M Asadul Islam, Secretary (Health Education and Family Welfare Division) GM Saleh Uddin, Director General of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Prof Dr Abul Kalam Azad, among others, were present.

The minister said strong monitoring network would be built to improve the standard of healthcare facilities across the country.

The private hospitals should take responsibility if any unwanted incident happens, he added.

He also urged all the hospitals to open ‘Complain Corner’ to receive complaints from patients.

Later, World Health Organisation (WHO) Representative to Bangladesh Dr Bardan Jug Rana greeted him.
