Minister for Telecommunications and Information Technology Mustafa Jabbar on Saturday said that students would hold computer and tab instead of books and bags in future.

"Students will use computers and tabs instead of books, note books, pens and school bags in the educational institutions in future. Thus, there will be an end to the burden of heavy schoolbags on their shoulders and backs," said Jabbar while addressing a function in Bogra.

As the chief guest, Jabbar made these remarks while addressing an annual prize giving ceremony followed by a cultural function at the local Korotoa Multimedia School & College.

"Our offices will be run by computer devices. Those who have made fun about our digital country are now talking about the digital era," he said.

Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Nure Alam Siddique, Police Super Ali Ashraf Bhuiyan and CEO of Bijoy Digital Jesmin Akhter Jui, among others, also addressed the function.
