Eco-park to be developed at Bichhanakandi in Sylhet

The local administration has taken an initiative to develop an eco-park at Bichhanakandi tourist spot in Gowainghat upazila of Sylhet for enhancing beauty of the tourist spot and conservation of biodiversity.

Sources said the authorities concerned have taken the initiative to establish the echo-park on 34.59 acres of land.

To make the move a success, Biswajit Kumar Pal, UNO of Gowainghat upazila, along with local union parishad chairmen and others planted different kinds of saplings in the area on Wednesday.

More 10,000 saplings will be planted there in phases, said the UNO.

Besides, the authorities concerned will also take necessary steps for providing necessary facilities to the tourists.

Shahab Uddin Shihab, a local union parishad chairman, said the eco-park will help to maintain environmental balance.
