Govt will help organise B2B events, actively consider creating blogs

The government will help organise business to business (B2B) events to promote inbound tourism. The ministry will also actively consider creating blogs to project country's potentials to foreign tourists through various writings.

The commitments came from Md Mohibul Haque, Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, at the certificate giving ceremony of Tourism Fellowship-2018, organised by Aviation and Tourism Journalists' Forum of Bangladesh (ATJFB) in association of Bangladesh Tourism Board (BTB) at Jatiya Press Club in the city on August 14.

He instructed Md Jahangir Hossain ndc, the new Chief Executive Officer, BTB to hold meetings with stakeholders and journalists covering the beat as soon as possible to take their suggestions to push tourism further ahead.

The ideas of holding B2B events and creating blogs were put forward by Kazi Wahidul Alam, Editor, The Bangladesh Monitor. He opined that we are not being able to use social media to our advantage. We need to go for interactive platforms like blogs. What is the use if the write-ups of the journalists cannot reach an international audience.

Md Jahangir Hossain, Akhtar Hossain, Deputy Director, BTB, Taufiq Rahman, CEO, Journey Plus and Secretary General, PATA Bangladesh Chapter, Nadira Kiron, President and Tanzim Anwar, General Secretry, ATJFB spoke on the occasion, among others.

Those who received the fellowship certificates are Masud Rumi of Kaler Kontho, Jamal Uddin of Dainik Ittefaq, Altab Hossain of Samakal, Imrul Kawsar Imon of Bhorer Dak, Tawhidul Islam of Amader Somoy, Ziaul Haq Sabuj of Banglavision, Imtiaz Ahmed of Somoy Sangbad, Farhana Neela of Mohna Television, Dinar Sultana of Bangladesh Television and AKM Moinuddin of UNB.
