Metro rail in Dhaka will run for an additional hour from Wednesday considering the passengers’ demand during the month of Ramadan.

The last train from Motijheel station will depart at 9:40 pm and from Uttara Uttar station at 9 pm until the day before Eid-ul-Fitr.

Dhaka Mass Transit Company Ltd (DMTCL) Managing Director MAN Siddique said this at a press conference on Tuesday.

With the increased operations, metro rail will run 194 times on both sides, while at present, it runs 184 times from 7am to 8:40pm.

The DMTCL, meanwhile, has decided to stop operations of the metro rail on Eid day.
