A Dhaka court has ordered the seizure of 100 bighas of land, five buildings and two flats owned by former Detective Branch of Police (DB) chief Harun-or-Rashid, a widely discussed police official during the ousted Awami League government.

Judge Md Zakir Hossain of the Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court and Senior Special Judge Court On Wednesday issued the order in response to a petition filed by Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Deputy Director Muhammad Zainal Abedin.

At the same time, the court has also ordered the freezing of 10 bank accounts in Harun’s name where a total of Tk1.26 crore is deposited.
