Another 11 children die with symptoms of measles: Directorate General of Health Services

Bangladesh is facing a severe measles outbreak, with 11 more children dying from symptoms of the disease in the last 24 hours, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) report released on Saturday, April 25, 2026.

During this period, 1,058 new symptomatic cases were identified, of which 229 were laboratory-confirmed.

Since the outbreak intensified on March 15, the total number of symptomatic cases has surged to 30,607, with 4,460 confirmed infections.

The death toll has also risen significantly, with 42 confirmed measles deaths and 209 deaths from suspected cases. Currently, thousands remain hospitalized as health authorities struggle to contain the spread of this highly contagious viral infection.
