In a scathing critique on Saturday, April 25, 2026, Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer and Opposition Leader Dr. Shafiqur Rahman accused the BNP of treading the path of the ousted fascist regime, labeling them a "weak version of the Awami League."
Speaking at a rally for July uprising martyrs' families, he asserted that the BNP is betraying the public mandate by opposing essential state reforms and the recent referendum results.
Dr. Rahman criticized BNP leaders for prioritizing power over the sacrifices of martyrs and reminded them that the 2024 revolution was a "divine miracle" that ended their long-standing political despair.
Warning against the rise of new forms of violence in educational institutions and the denial of people's rights, he declared that Jamaat would continue its struggle both in Parliament and on the streets until the "July Charter" is fully implemented.
