The measles outbreak in Bangladesh continues to worsen, with 8 more children dying from the disease and its symptoms in the last 24 hours.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) report released on Sunday, April 26, 2026, 1,564 new patients were hospitalized during this period.
Since the spike began on March 15, the total number of suspected cases has exceeded 32,000, with 4,603 laboratory-confirmed infections.
The death toll now stands at 43 confirmed deaths and 216 suspected deaths. Health authorities are urging parents to be vigilant as hospitals struggle with the increasing influx of symptomatic children.
