Rain likely at few places across country


Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today forecasted rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind at few places over the country in 24 hours commencing at 9 am today.

“Rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is
likely to occur at many places over Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions
and at a few places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram
divisions with hails at isolated places,” said a Met office release here
issued this noon.

Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country,
the release said.

Yesterday’s highest temperature was recorded 34.0 degrees Celsius at
Jashore in Khulna division and today’s minimum temperature 16.8 degrees
Celsius at Rangpur in Rangpur division.

Today’s sunset in Dhaka would be at 06:18 pm while tomorrow’s sunrise at
05:43 am.

Meanwhile, rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary west or north-
westerly squalls speed 60-80 kph is likely to occur over the regions of
Dhaka, Tangail, Mymensingh, Faridpur, Madaripur, Cumilla and Sylhet wherein
riverports shall hoist riverine warning signal no two.

Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary west or north-westerly
gusty or squally wind speed 45-60 kph is likely to occur elsewhere over the
country wherein riverports shall hoist cautionary signal no one.
