Coronavirus cases near 3,800 in Bangladesh; death toll stands at 120

The number of confirmed coronavirus patients in Bangladesh surged to 3,772 on Wednesday as the country registered 390 fresh cases in the last 24 hours.

Besides, 10 more people died from COVID-19 during the period. With the latest, the death toll from the lethal disease now stands at 120.

Additional Director General (Admin) of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Dr Nasima Sultana came up with the disclosure at a daily health bulletin this afternoon.

Prof Nasima said, in the last 24 hours, 3,096 samples of people were tested across the country.

Also, five more patients have recovered from the disease during the period under review, taking the total number of recoveries to 92.

Meanwhile, the global death toll from coronavirus has reached 178,281 as of Wednesday noon.

It has so far infected 2,571,660 people around the world, according to Worldometer - a website that provides real-time updates.

Of them, 1,692,309 are currently being treated and 57,282 of them are in serious or critical condition.

So far, 701,070 people have recovered.
