Expressing apprehension that coronavirus may increase in the upcoming winter, Information Minister and Awami League (AL) joint general secretary Hasan Mahmud has urged people to be aware.   

“There is no reason to think that coronavirus has gone,” he said.

“The second wave of coronavirus will come in winter. We think that coronavirus may increase further in December.We all should maintain hygiene and health guidelines. We the people of Bangladesh were just as cautious at the beginning of Corona. But still we have to take the same or more cautious during the winter.”

The death rate among corona sufferers in Bangladesh would have been even lower if the people of the country had tested on a large scale, he said.

Dr Hasan Mahmud made the remarks at a press conference Wednesday on coronavirus and contemporary issues at the conference room of Information Ministry at the secretariat on Wednesday.
