Executive Director (ED) of the World Food Programme (WFP) David Beasley has highly appreciated Bangladesh's development journey.

The WFP ED expressed his admiration for the big strides Bangladesh has made as the country's Ambassador to Italy Shameem Ahsan presented his letter of credence to him at the WFP headquarters in Rome Tuesday as the permanent representative of Bangladesh to the WFP.

Shameem thanked the WFP for its strong presence in Bangladesh and also for the remarkable support to the Rohingyas in the country.

Bangladesh is the eighth largest portfolio of the Rome-based UN agency.
