Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has sent seasonal fruit mango to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee as gift.

The mangoes weighing 2,600 kg were sent through Benapole Land Port by a Bangladeshi truck on Sunday afternoon.

On completion of all the customs and port formalities, the mango-laden truck carrying 260 cartons of mangoes entered India.

First secretary (political) of the Deputy High Commission of Bangladesh in Kolkata, Md Samiul Quader, received the mangoes at the custom station of Benapole port in Jashore

Benapole Municipality Mayor Ashraful Alam Liton, Sharsha Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mir Alif Reza, Deputy Commissioner of Customs Anupam Chakma, Assistant Superintendent of Police Jewel Imran, Port Deputy Director Abdul Jalil and other officials were present on the occasion.
