Former NBR member Matiur Rahman, who is better known for his son's goat purchase, has been arrested from the Bhatara area in the capital, police said on Wednesday.
He and his wife, former upazila chairman Layla Kaniz, were arrested by the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Tuesday.
The information was confirmed by Muhammad Talebur Rahman, deputy commissioner for media and public relations at DMP.
He did not provide any details about the arrest of the couple who faces corruption allegations.
