Sayeed Ahmed was elected president of the new executive committee of Law Reporters’ Forum (LRF) while Hasan Zabed made general secretary.

Sayeed Ahmed is the chief reporter of Bengali daily Bangladesher Khabor while Hasan Zabed is a senior reporter of NTV.

Election to the LRF was held at south hall in the city’s Supreme Court Bar Association building from 3:00pm to 5:00pm on Friday.

Advocate and Kaler Kantho reporter Ashraf-Ul Alam was head of the election committee while senior journalists Mizan Malik and Tofael Hossain were members.

The other office bearers are Hira Talukder - vice-president, Habibur Rahman - joint secretary, Mohammad Fazlur Rahman - treasurer, Afzal Hossain - organising secretary, Manzur Hossain - office secretary, Tanvir Ahmed - publicity and publication secretary and Mizan Ahmed - training and welfare secretary.

The executive committee members are Enamul Huq, Malek Mollik, SM Nur Mohammad and Mosaddek Ahmed Bashir.

Ex-president of LRF Faruk Kazi, Ex-general secretary Kazi Abdul Hanna, Senior member Ashoke Chowdhury, Sawapan Das Gupta, Ali Asgo Sawapan, Shankar Moitra among others were present at the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
