Indian President Smt Droupadi Murmu has said that her country looks forward to working closely with Bangladesh to further strengthen bilateral partnership and advance regional peace, stability, and prosperity.
She conveyed her eagerness in a letter to Bangladesh President Mohammed Shahabuddin on Wednesday, ahead of the Great Independence and National Day.
Bangladesh is set to celebrate its 56th Independence and National Day on 26 March in a befitting manner.
Marking the day, the Indian president extended greetings and felicitations to President Shahabuddin and the people of Bangladesh.
“India and Bangladesh are bound by a shared history, deep cultural linkages and enduring linguistic traditions that form the foundation of our close partnership,” Murmu wrote.
“Through the years, we have made significant progress in advancing people-centric development across key sectors including connectivity, trade, development partnership, power and energy, capacity building and education, delivering tangible benefits to citizens on both sides of the border.”
She said, “India looks forward to working closely with Bangladesh to further strengthen our bilateral partnership and to advance regional peace, stability and prosperity.
“Please accept, Excellency, the assurances of my renewed consideration and my best wishes to the Government and the people of Bangladesh,” the Indian president added.
