Opposition Leader and Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman launched a scathing attack on the government on Friday, April 10, 2026, alleging widespread "election engineering."
Following a parliamentary walkout, he claimed that two key figures—a former advisory council member and a current State Minister—have effectively acted as "approvers" or state witnesses to the electoral manipulation.
Dr. Rahman criticized the State Minister’s remarks regarding the "transfer of the trophy" in London, questioning the legitimacy of an election whose outcome seemed predetermined behind the scenes.
He asserted that ignoring the referendum mandate, where 70% of voters favored reforms, is an insult to the nation.
Vowing not to yield an inch, he declared that since justice was denied in Parliament, the movement for public rights will now shift to the people's court to ensure the implementation of the referendum's verdict.
