The final rites of the legendary singer Asha Bhosle, who passed away at 92 on Sunday, will be performed today, Monday, April 13, 2026, with full state honors at Mumbai’s Shivaji Park.

This is the same historic venue where her elder sister, Lata Mangeshkar, was also cremated. Her body has been kept at her Lower Parel residence since morning for fans and family to pay their last respects, with Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expected to attend the funeral at 4 PM.

Having recorded over 12,000 songs in more than 20 languages, her demise marks the end of an era, drawing heartfelt tributes from cinema icons across India, including Shah Rukh Khan and Kamal Haasan, who mourned the loss of the versatile "Dadasaheb Phalke" awardee.
