Nepal envoy calls for deeper ties with BD in trade, energy, education

Nepalese Ambassador to Bangladesh Ghanashyam Bhandari has emphasised the need for enhanced collaboration between Dhaka and Kathmandu in sectors including trade, investment, energy, education, and people-to-people relations.

Speaking at a roundtable titled "Bangladesh-Nepal Relations: A Renewed Outlook", jointly organised by the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) and Nepal Economic Forum (NEF) in Dhaka, the ambassador highlighted the progress made so far in bilateral ties and outlined opportunities for further cooperation.

Bhandari underscored the importance of improving connectivity as well as promoting cultural and touristic exchanges to deepen engagement at the people-to-people level.

He also called for greater collaboration on regional and global platforms in areas such as sustainable development goals, climate change, migration, disaster preparedness, and peacekeeping.

The Ambassador commended CPD and NEF for their efforts in fostering dialogue and knowledge-sharing, and encouraged them to continue research initiatives aimed at building a stronger economic partnership between the two countries.
