Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus said the ideals left behind by Osman Hadi would continue to guide the nation, declaring that Bangladesh would never bow its head.

Speaking ahead of Hadi’s janaza on Saturday, Yunus said Hadi was not just a leader but someone who left behind a clear and principled process—how elections should be conducted and how political campaigns can be carried out without causing suffering to people.

“Our heads will never bow—this ideal is what Hadi has given us,” Yunus said. “You showed us that politics is about discipline, responsibility, and respect for people.”

He added that the dream Hadi nurtured—of a justice-based, anti-hegemonic society—would be upheld through concrete actions. “We want to adopt the process you laid out: how to organise elections, how to campaign without burdening ordinary people,” Yunus said.

“We place you today in Allah’s care,” the chief adviser said. “We promise that, remembering your words, we will continue to move forward on the path of national progress.”

Yunus also said the model of election management and political conduct demonstrated by Hadi would be adopted in the future and would serve as an ethical benchmark for politics in Bangladesh.
