DU convocation on October 6

Dhaka University’s 51st convocation will be held on October 6 this year.

A preparatory meeting regarding the arrangement of the convocation was held today at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban, says a press release issued by the university today.

Presiding over the meeting, DU Vice chancellor Prof Md Akhtaruzzaman called upon on all concerned to celebrate the convocation in befitting manner and festivity, the release said.

An executive committee, a managing committee and 26 sub-committees were formed during today’s meeting to arrange the ceremony properly.

Members of the university’s senate and syndicate, representatives of Dhaka University Teachers’ Association (DUTA), and other high officials were present at the meeting.

Liberian Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Leymah Gbowee has been proposed to be invited as the chief guest. She will be conferred an honorary Doctor of Laws degree at the ceremony.
