Japan for development of smart agriculture in Bangladesh


A Japanese expert has emphasised the potential for the development of smart agriculture by using Satellite data, Artificial intelligence, and GRID technology in Bangladesh.

TSUBOI Shunsuke, Founder and CEO, Sagri on “Satellite×AI×GRID Agriculture Revolution”, gave an online Lecture, which was jointly organised by the Ministry of Agriculture and the Embassy of Japan in Bangladesh on Tuesday.  

TSUBOI also elaborated that those advanced technologies can optimise, improve efficiency and reduce utilization of fertilizer in agriculture and reduce problems in the environment, said the Embassy of Japan.

Ito Naoki, Ambassador of Japan to Bangladesh, made opening remarks and mentioned that he hoped the lecture would promote the cooperation between two countries in smart agriculture, which is the new territory, and it will lead to enhancing agriculture production and efficiency, and making it value-added.

In this lecture Ruhul Amin Talukder , Additional Secretary of Ministry of Agriculture graced the programme with opening remarks and Mrs. Tajkera Khatun Joint Secretary of Ministry of Agriculture made closing remarks.

Governmental officers, Academics, Companies, and students were present among the participant.
