DSCC allows five makeshift cattle markets

Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) on Sunday decided to allow only five makeshift cattle markets considering the risk of spreading corona infection in the city. 

The five makeshift cattle markets will be arranged at Uttar Shahjahanpur Moitri Songho Math, Hazaribag Leather Technology College Math, Postogola Shoshan Ghat , Komalapur Little Friends Club and Aftabnagar haat.

Ahead of Eid-Ul-Azha, people have also an option to buy sacrificial animals from online cattle markets.

DSCC came up with the decision from a meeting held at DSCC Nagarbhaban in the capital on Sunday.

Earlier, the National Technical Advisory Committee on Covid-19 recommended reducing the number of cattle markets in the capital to avoid the risk of corona infection.

DSCC Chief Estate Officer Rasel Sabrin said, “As per decision of the meeting, we will allow only five cattle markets this year. We are trying to arrange online cattle markets for city dwellers. We are contacting concern organizations in this regard.”
