Shopping malls, markets to reopen from August 11


The government has decided to allow all shopping malls and markets to reopen across the country from August 11.

Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque said this in a press briefing after a cabinet meeting on Tuesday.

AKM Mozammel Haque also announced that ongoing nationwide lockdown to curb the spread of coronavirus has been extended for another 5 days till August 10.

Earlier on August 2, Bangladesh Restaurant Owners' Association urged the government to allow them to reopen hotels and restaurants following health guidelines amid the pandemic.

Imran Hasan, secretary-general of the association, placed a written statement during a press briefing at Dhaka Reporters Unity on Monday.
