6,120 litres of soybean oil seized in Ctg, fined Tk 2.5 lakh

A joint team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection seized 6,120 litres of edible oil from a warehouse at Saltgola of Chattogram port city on Sunday.

The joint team conducted a raid at Ishanmistrir Bazar at about 11:30 am and seized the 6,120 litres of open soybean and palm oils from the warehouse of Asad Banijjolo in the area, said Didar Hossain, assistant director of the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection.

These soybeans were bought at Tk 133 and palms at Tk 127.

The trader was fined Tk 2,50,000 to the owner for hoarding the oils illegally.
