BGMEA president calls for media support in changing narrative of Bangladesh’s garment industry
Faruque Hassan, President of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), has emphasised the pivotal role of the media in reshaping the global perception of Bangladesh’s garment industry, read a press release.
He came up with the observation during his meeting with Farida Yasmin, President of the National Press Club in Dhaka, on December 30.
Faruque Hassan extended thanks to the media for its significant contributions to the apparel sector of Bangladesh, particularly in promoting a positive image both locally and internationally.
He also acknowledged the media’s influence in dispelling myths and showcasing the industry’s achievements and positive stories to the world.
During the meeting, President Faruque Hassan highlighted the remarkable progress made by the garment industry in important areas such as workplace safety, environmental sustainability, and workers’ rights and well-being.
