Price of LPG cylinder slashed by Tk49


The government has slashed the prices of per 12 kg Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinder by Tk 49 with immediate effect.

From now on, the price per 12 kg LPG cylinder will stand at Tk 1,393 against the previous price of Tk 1,442.

Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) came up with the announcement during a press conference at its office in Dhaka on Thursday.   

The new rate will come into effect from 6 pm on Thursday, BERC Chairman Md Nurul Amin said while addressing the press conference.

He said that the retail price of per kg of LPG has been fixed at Tk 16.08 and in proportion, the prices of 12,15, 16, 18, 20, 25, 30, 35 and 45 kg cylinders have been readjusted downward.

Alongside the LPG, the government has cut the price of autogas used in cars and from now on, the price of per litre of autogas stood at Tk 63.92 which was Tk 66.21 in the last month.  

The BERC readjusts the price of LPG monthly basis, aligning it with Saudi Aramco’s propane and butane prices to maintain consistency with the international market.
