Walton eyes 1.8m-fridge sale this year


The country’s electronics giant ‘Walton’ has set a target of selling out 1.8 million pieces of fridges in the local market in the current year. The target is about 27 percent higher than the sales of fridges in the previous year.

According to Walton authorities, both the demands and sales of fridges were gone up during the last couple of years following the improvement of peoples’ living standard, increase of per capita income and progress of power generation.

On an average, about 20 to 22 lakh unit of fridges were sold out in each year. But, this year the demands for fridges would be reach 25 lakh units. To this extent, Walton itself targets to meet 72 percent of the total demands of fridges of the current year.

Eva Rezwana, chief marketing coordinator of Walton Group, said, Walton brand fridges are in the customers’ top choice during the last couple of years.

“Every year, we are meeting around two-thirds of the total annual demands of fridges,” she said.

Walton released lot of new models of refrigerators and freezers with spending designs in the beginning of the current year, she said and hope that they would be able to meet the lion portion of this year’s total fridge demands of fridges.

Amdadul Haque Sarker, head of marketing of Walton Group, said, they have already increase the production of fridges at factory in line with the market survey. They took advanced marketing strategies and also emphasized on the increase of customers’ facilities, he said.

Considering the taste and purchasing power capacity of all-classes of people, Walton is now marketing and manufacturing more than 100 models of fridges of state-of –the art technologies like frost, non-frost, digital display, fiver star energy rated etc.

Under Walton brand, there are 80 models of frost refrigerators, 31 models of non-frost refrigerators and 14 models of freezers. Walton is manufacturing and marketing 16 models of refrigerators of tempered glass door, of which 9 models are newly added.

This year, Walton newly released 29 models of frost refrigerators and 8 models of non-frost refrigerators.

Among the new models of non-frost refrigerators, there are huge power efficient inverter technology’s three-door based refrigerators of 455 and 452 liters, one model of side by side door based refrigerator of 501 liters, one model of digital display’s refrigerator of 328 liters and two models of five star energy rated refrigerators of 328 liters.

Besides, Walton is also marketing 14 models of freezers, of which 6 models are newly introduced. There are also 29 models in the upcoming list of Walton refrigerators.

Walton officials said, they sold out nearly 15 lakh unit of fridges in the previous year. Also in 2016, they registered about 44 percent higher sales of fridges than the sales of 2015. Analyzing the sales growth, the local brand set a target of selling out about 18 lakh unit of fridges in the current year.

They also said that the sales of fridges in January and February of this year had passed the sales target, set for those months by the company.

Walton is releasing each and every fridges after getting the quality certificate from international standard NUSDAT-UTS testing lab. The local brand is applying power efficient intelligent inverter technology, nano-health care and anti-fungal door gasket technologies in  its produced refrigerators and freezers.

Walton is now offering one year replacement guaranty, maximum 10 years replacement guaranty for compressors, installment facility up to 36 months and swift post sales services to the customers.
