Citizens over 12 years to get Covid-19 vaccine: Health Minister

Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque has said Pfizer and Mordana vaccines will be given to those who are above 12 years of old of the country.

“According to the guidelines of the World Health Organization (WHO), vaccination of school and college students will depend on their age. If any student is aged over 18 years can receive any vaccine. However, Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are being given to students over 12 years old but less than 18 years in the developed world. Students in our country will be vaccinated following the guidelines of the WHO,” he said.

Zahid Maleque made the remarks on Saturday morning.

The health minister also said the vaccination programme will restart at union level based on the availability of vaccines.
