25 families in Mirpur under lockdown as 2 Covid-19 patients found

Two persons of the same family have been infected with coronavirus in Mirpur-1 in Dhaka.

Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) have taken the patients to their custody from their house.

Two apartment buildings and one tin-shed building have been kept under lockdown after the patients were diagnosed with the virus.

The police informed that 25 families live there.

Officer-in-Charge of Mirpur Police Station, Mostafizur Rahman said, "The patients were suffering from fever, runny nose, cough and respiratory problems. IEDCR took them away this morning after they tested positive."

"People have been made aware by announcement through loudspeaker. No one is being allowed to enter those houses. But one person from every family can get outside in protected clothing for emergency purpose," he further added.

Police force have been deployed to control movement in front of the houses.

So far, a total of nine people have died from the deadly virus in the country and 88 people have been tested positive.
