ACC sues Shahed, three others for embezzling Tk 2.71cr from Padma Bank


The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Monday filed another case against four people including Regent Group chairman Shahed Karim alias Md Shahed for embezzling Tk2.71 crore from Farmers Bank Ltd remained as Padma Bank Ltd.

The case was filed with the Dhaka Integrated District Office of ACC by the commission’s deputy assistant director Mdohammad Shahjahan Miraji, ACC Director (Public Relations) Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya said.

Others who are accused in the case are: Mahbubul Haque Chisty, former audit committee chairman of the Bank and his son Rashedul Haque Chisty, and Regent Hospital Ltd Managing Director Ibrahim Khalil.  

On Sunday, the anti-graft body took the decision to file the case in a meeting held at its head office of the capital following the inquiry report submitted by the investigator.

Earlier, the anti-graft commission filed a case against four including Shahed on allegations of embezzling Tk1.51 crore from NRB bank Ltd.
