ACC seeks wealth info of DNCC ward councilor Sentu
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Sunday asked Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC)’s Ward 31 Councillor Shafiqul Islam Sentu to submit his wealth statements as a part of investigation of his wealth.
The national anti-graft body took the steps after it found primary allegations of amassing illegal wealth by the Ward Councillor Sentu, said ACC public relations officer M Arif Sadiq.
ACC asked Sentu, also a member of the Presidium of Jatiya Party, to submit wealth details of his, his wife and other family members to the commission by 21 working days.
The notice sought a statement of their all immovable or movable property acquired in the names of their own and their dependents.
If they fail to submit the statements of assets within the stipulated time or submit a false statement, action will be taken against them as per sub-section (2) of Section 26 of the Anti-Corruption Commission Act.
