Man arrested with 10kg gold from near Chuadanga border


A person has been arrested with 58 gold bars measuring nine kilograms and 860 grams from near Chuadanga border.

Boarder Guard Bangladesh (BGB) 6 Battalion arrested the person and seized the gold bars from Nastipur village area on Thursday.

The arrestee is identified as Rakibul Islam, 35, son of Abdul Hai, hailing from Nastipur village.

Estimated value of the gold is Tk 6,60,35,740.

Proceeding of a case with Darshana police station was in motion.  

Chuadanga-6 BGB director Lt Col Shah Md Ishtiaq confirmed the arrest and recovery of gold.

Tipped off, BGB forces took strategic position near Nastipur graveyard and saw a person crossing the area riding a motorcycle. As BGB men intercepted, he was trying to flee leaving motorcycle. Chasing, the forces managed to arrest him.
