Girls outshine boys as 82.87pc pass SSC, equivalent exams
A total of 82.87% students have passed this year's Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and its equivalent examinations.
Meanwhile, the girls are ahead of boys in pass rate in the combined results - 84.10 percent girls passed, while the pass rate of boys is 81.06 percent.
Some 1,35,898 student got GPA-5 this year. The pass rate was 82.2 percent last year.
Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni announced the results at a video conference today.
Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the results from Ganabhaban at 10am.
This year the student pass rate of Cumilla Board was 85.22% Chattogram- 84.75%, Dinajpur- 82.73%, Mymensingh- 80.13%, Sylhet- 78.79%, Barishal- 79.70%, Jashore- 87.31%.
Some 10,245 students attained A+ from Cumilla Board, 9,008 from Chattogram, 12,086 from Dinajpur, 7.434 from Mymensingh, 4,263 from Sylhet, 4,483 from Barishal and 13,764 from Jashore.
This year, the SSC and equivalent exams began on February 3, with the theoretical and practical tests ending on February 27 and March 6 respectively.
Around 2,050,000 students took part in the exams in over 3,500 centres from around 29,000 educational institutions across the country.
