Local films to be released on Eid-ul-Fitr

Filmmakers and producers always make their big-budget projects targeting the two Eid festivals. Eid-ul-Fitr 2024 is no exception. Several movies are all set to be released in theatres on the occasion of upcoming Eid festival.

From action thrillers to romantic dramas, this year’s Eid releases promise to cater to a diverse range of tastes.

Here’s a look at the upcoming local movies that will entertain the audience in Eid-ul-Fir festival.

“Rajkumar”

Dhallywood superstar Shakib Khan-starrer film “Rajkumar” will be released in theatres at home and abroad on the occasion of upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr.

Written and directed by Himel Ashraf, the film has been produced by Arsahd Adnan under the banner of Versatile Media.

American actor Courtney Coffey will be seen opposite Shakib Khan in the movie. The film also stars Tariq Anam Khan, Tanisa islam Mahi, Sajjadul Ahamed Riyad and others.

“Kajol Rekha”

“Kajol Rekah” is a musical film featuring Shariful Razz and Mondera Chakraborty in lead roles. Directed and produced by Giasuddin Selim, the film is based on the 16th century ‘Mymensingh Gitika’.

Mondera Chakraborty will make her big screen debut with the film.  

Actors Iresh Zaker, Azad Abul Kalam, Shahana Rahman Sumi, Rafiat Rashid Mithila, Khairul Basar, Sadia Ayman and others will also be seen acting in the project.   

“Ahare Jibon”

Popular actors Ferdous Ahmed and Purnima-starrer film “Ahare Jibon” is expected to be released in theatres during the Eid-ul-Fitr festival.

Through this film, Purnima is returning to theatre after a long-hiatus. Noted filmmaker Chatku Ahmed has directed the government-granted movie.

It may be mentioned that, “Ahare Jibon” is first government-funded film directed by Chatku Ahmed. 

“Mona: Jinn 2”

The film “Jinn” was released in theatres on Eid-ul-Fitr last year. Produced by Jaaz Multimedia, the supernatural thriller starring Abdun Noor Shajal and Puja Chery in lead roles, garnered huge attention for its storyline at that time.

Now, Jaaz Multimedia is releasing “Mona: Jinn 2”, the sequel to the critically acclaimed “Jinn”.   

Directed by Kamruzzaman Roman, “Mona: Jinn 2” features Ahmed Rubel, Tariq Anam Khan, Quazi Nawshaba Ahmed Mahmudul Islam Mithu, Samina Bashar, Rebeka Rouf, Deepa Khandakar, Sajjad Hossain, Shehzad Omar and others.      

“Deyaler Desh”

Popular Dhallywood actors Shobnom Bubly and Sariful Razz-starrer film “Deyaler Desh” will hit the country’s theatre on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.  

Directed by Mishuk Moni, “Deyaler Desh” is the first film starring Bubly and Sariful Razz as a pair. Besides directing, the story and screenplay of the film is written by Mishuk Moni. He is also the co-producer of the movie.

“Dead Body”

Popular Bangladeshi actor Ziaul Roshan and Bollywood actor Anwesha Roy Any have played the lead roles in the Md Iqbal-directed movie.

The other cast of the film includes Omar Sani, Shamol Mawla, Rashed Mamun Apu, Mishti Jahan and others.

“Maya”

The film “Maya” has been written and directed by Jasim Uddin Zakir. Popular actors Shobnom Yesmin Bubly, Anisur Rahman Milon, Symon Sadik and Ziaul Roshan have played important roles in the project.

The film’s Eid campaign was started with the launching of official poster on Saturday. The poster includes the first look of the four actors of the movie.

Among these four artistes, actor Bubly is surrounded by three actors Anisur Rahman Milon, Symon Sadik and Ziaul Roshan.   

“Potu”

Directed by Ahmed Humyun and produced by Jaaz Multimedia, Evan Sair is portraying the titular role in the film.

The other cast of the film includes Afra Shaiara, Shoaib Monir, Dilruba Hossain Doyel, Ariful Rony and more.

The soundtrack features vocals by Lagnajita from Kolkata and Islam Uddin Palakar from Bangladesh.

“Omar”

The film “Omar” is directed by Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Raz. Sariful Razz has portrayed the lead role in the film.

Besides Razz, popular actors Fazlur Rahman Babu, Shahiduzzaman Selim and Nasir Uddin Khan have played three important roles in the projects.

Zayed Khan-starrer “Shonar Char”, Kamruzzaman Roman-directed film “Lipstick” starring Puja Chery and Ador Azad and Fuad Chowdhury’s “Meghna Konnya” are also set to be released on the occasion of upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr.
