‘Sobar Age Hasimukh’: New documentary unveils Tarique’s humanitarian side

The documentary “Sobar Age Hasimukh (Smiling Faces First)” beautifully highlights the quiet, humanitarian side of BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman.

His empathy and benevolent initiatives toward both humans and animals served as the primary inspiration for the production.

The documentary showcases various humanitarian efforts where Tarique has silently stood by helpless individuals, distressed families and neglected animals much of which remained unknown to the general public until now.

Speakers shared these feelings during their post-premiere reactions at Star Cineplex, located in SKS Tower, Mohakhali, in the capital on Saturday afternoon.

Earlier, the premiere show of the documentary “Sobar Age Hasimukh” was held, leaving the audience deeply moved and emotional.

Directed by Zubayer Babu, this is the first-ever documentary centred on Tarique.

The screening was attended by a diverse group of people, including politicians, teachers, actors, journalists, singers and professionals from all walks of life.

Speaking as the chief guest, Nazrul Islam Khan, BNP National Standing Committee member and chairman of the BNP Central Election Management Committee, said, "It was largely unknown that Tarique Rahman has been working for people and animals in this manner for years. Even we did not know much about it. As seen in the documentary, even those he stood by admitted they didn't know who was behind the support or where the help was coming from. His contributions to the welfare of humans and animals never sought the limelight. This documentary highlights that very silent, humanitarian side."

Md Ismail Jabiullah, member of the BNP Chairman's Advisory Council and Chief Coordinator of the Central Election Management Committee, said: "I had no idea what I was coming to see. I thought perhaps it would be something political. After watching the documentary, I understood the whole picture and was truly amazed. This film has brought to light the unknown humanitarian aspects of Tarique."

Zubayer Babu, member of the BNP Central Election Management Committee and director of the documentary, said: " ‘Sobar Age Hasimukh’ is not political propaganda. It is the story of a man who, despite his busy political life, has worked quietly to bring smiles to the faces of countless people."

"Tarique's empathy and humanitarian initiatives toward both humans and animals were the core inspirations for this documentary," he added.

Following the premiere, the guests praised the documentary’s cinematic craftsmanship and subject matter, describing it as an important historical record for the future generations.
