A huge mass procession and leaflet distribution have been held in Tangail to implement the 31-point plan to repair the state structure announced by Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.
Sultan Salahuddin Tuku, BNP's central committee publicity secretary and Tangail-5 (Tangail Sadar) constituency candidate, held a huge mass rally on Wednesday afternoon to distribute leaflets and seek votes for rice sheaves.
A huge mass procession led by Sultan Salauddin Tuku started from the municipal park of Tangail city and ended at the municipal park after circling various roads of the city. Leaders, activists and supporters from all walks of life of the district BNP and its affiliated organizations participated in the mass procession. Along with this, the mass procession turned into a sea of people with the participation of people from all walks of life of 12 unions including Tangail city.
Earlier, leaders and activists from different areas of 12 unions of Sadar Upazila and common people gathered at the municipal park carrying banners, posters and festoons. The park was filled to the brim.
During the brief meeting, Sultan Salahuddin Tuku said, "The 31-point plan announced by Tarique Rahman is the outline of a new Bangladesh. It is not just a political program, but rather a guideline for the fight to establish justice, democracy and the rights of the people."
He said, "Today, the people of the country want justice, development and democracy. BNP's 31-point program is a reflection of that desire. Each point of this program carries the outline of people's rights, justice and a prosperous Bangladesh. We are delivering this message to people in every house."
He further said that the patriot Tarique Rahman is a symbol of hope for this nation. He will lead the election campaign upon his return to the country, and at his call, the people of the country will vote in favor of change in unity.
While distributing leaflets, Tuku asked for votes using the paddy sheaf symbol. At the same time, he urged everyone to vote for the BNP in the next election using the paddy sheaf symbol.
The rally, chaired by former member secretary of the district BNP, Mahmudul Haque Sanu, was also addressed by Sadar Upazila BNP president Azgar Ali, former convener of the district Jubo Dal Kazi Shafiqur Rahman Liton, and convener of the district Jubo Dal Khandaker Rashedur Alam.
