DMCH to be turned into one of the best hospitals in the world: Health Minister


The government is going to add 5,000 new beds with modern facilities at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in the capital in a bid to ensure proper treatment of the country’s people, Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque said on Tuesday.

He said, “Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) will be turned into one of the world's leading medical college hospitals. 5000 modern beds are being made for this hospital.

"Hon'ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has already allocated Tk 20,000 crore in this regard. All kinds of modern amenities will be enhanced here including the introduction of state-of-the-art emergency ward and improved testing system”, he added.

He made the disclosure while speaking at a function organised by DMCH and Pearlman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania in the United States at Gallery-1 of the hospital on Tuesday afternoon.
