Another male doctor, aged around 55 years, of Delta Medical College and Hospital has tested positive with the novel coronavirus (Covid-19).

The doctor was the head of the intensive case unit of the hospital. He was in home quarantine. His coronavirus test result came around 9 pm on Thursday.

With him, two doctors of the hospital have tested positive with the virus after they treated a coronavirus patient of Mirpur's Tolarbag.

Confirming the matter to newsmen, Bangladesh Doctors' Foundation's Chief Administrator Dr Nirupom Das said, "The newly infected doctor has been advised by IEDCR to take treatment staying at home as his infection level is mild."

Earlier on March 22, a 30-year-old doctor, who is an emergency medical officer of the hospital, tested positive with the virus.

He along with other doctors treated Tolarbag's elderly coronavirus patient, who died on March 20.

After the death of the patient, four doctors, 12 nurses and three other supporting staff of the medical college were sent to home quarantine.

Bangladesh reported five deaths from novel coronavirus. The number of infected patients stood at 44 as of Wednesday.
