Rail links between Dhaka-Narayanganj to be halted for 3.5 months

Railway authorities have decided to halt rail communication between Dhaka and Narayanganj for three and a half months.

The decision will come into effect from December 4.

Decision to halt rail communication has been taken in the wake of construction work of Padma Bridge rail link and Dhaka-Narayanganj railway development project.

According to a press release issued on Wednesday, construction works of three railways from Dhaka to Gandaria are underway. To complete the work quickly, train movement on Dhaka-Narayanganj route will remain temporarily be halted. A total of 32 trains operate on Dhaka-Naryanganj route.

Under the Padma Bridge Rail Link Project, 169 kilometer railways from Dhaka to Jashore are under construction.
