Main Eid jamaat to be held at 8:30am at National Eidgah

The main jamaat of Eid-ul-Fitr will be held at the National Eidgah around 8:30 am where at least 35,000 devotees will be able to participate in the congregation.

The authorities concerned have already undertaken all necessary preparations to hold the congregation in a peaceful and disciplined manner, reports a press release.

Dhaka South City Corporation Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh is scheduled to inspect the overall arrangement of the National Eidgah ground around 11 am on Tuesday.

If the congregation is not possible due to adverse weather or any other unavoidable reason, the jamaat will be held at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque around 9 am.

At least 35,000 devotees will gather to perform the Eid congregation together in the venue, which spans around 25,400 square meters.

Eid-ul-Fitr, the biggest religious festival of Muslim Ummah, will be celebrated on 11 April based on the moon sighting.
